It all does seem confusing doesn't it? We think our perceptions are real or we think someone else's belief system (opinion) is real. Every thing that is knowable (believable) is of the ego and none of it amounts to anything above a belief, an opinion derived from (mis)perception. Can it be the only reality is what amounts to as Undifferentiated Consciousness? Wherein all is known as One in All? Conversely in SVP we are studying the premise there is only One Substance; i.e., Mind. But this One Substance manifests as every thing that is known or knowable; i.e., an EFFECT of motion, which is to say APPEARING as some thing when in actuality it is something else. The appearance is misleading and illusory. We wish to peer behind the veil at the Cause and/or Causitive Forces creating the APPARENT universe. Of course, the Unseen Cause is Mind in its two fundamental modes: 1) All knowing Awareness and 2) differentiated thinking mind. These two seeming opposing states of Mind are not "something out there" but are in fact no different than the mind we each and all use everyday. To gain mastery over any segment of the universe is to first gain control over one's own thinking processes. Can this self-control be called "psychology"? Perhaps not. Giving away one's personal responsibility to believe in a misbelief, opinion or belief system developed by another may not be psychology either - but it certainly is an irresponsible way to go through life. |
