With the utmost respect for Bearden's person and scientific mind and findings, I will disagree with his doomsday scenarios. This scenario is "living in the past" and reflects a belief nothing changes and we are victims and because of that we need to "do something" to protect ourselves and each other. This philosophy goes contrary to everything we've been studying in SVP and related topics. The minds and hearts of individuals are awakening all over the globe - even in our governments, churches, universities and militaries. This awakening, even minorly so far, translates into changes of views and modifications of "Old Time" ideas, concepts and therefore actions. Those relentlessly hanging onto the Old Way of thinking, reacting and doing are on their way out of our societies and organizations. New people with new ideas, thoughts and actions are entering therein. Nothing is as it was - as so many are so fond of saying nowdays - though for seemingly different reasons. Millions of people in many different countries marching and working for Global Peace ARE having a significant impact. Millions communicating with each other thru the web across geopolitical, racial, religious and political lines ARE having a positive effect. Yes, there may come a war - a really nasty war - but it is the global mind of us all that is readjusting itself to the new mindset coming to the forefront. Ever watch a person in the throws of their personal awakening? It can be scary and violent but it ends in Supreme Peace to which they then adhere henceforth. Translate this personal scenario to our world (global mind) and it makes what we think we see going on somewhat understandable and with lessened fear or apprehension. |
