It is an interesting phenomenon that any new thing or thought matrix is immediately greeted with accusations of "Devil's work" (telephone, steam locomotive, etc.) or "Devil worship" (Masons, Liberals, etc.). I'm not picking on you, Alessandra, just musing in general..... Some years ago I experienced this first-hand. There was a rural community of people nearby that everyone who'd never been there said was a "weird religious cult" of some kind. So I went over to check them out..... After spending a couple of days within the community it became clear to me they were not a religious cult and they had no religious leanings of any kind that I could see. I never saw any "sacred texts", praying or rituals of any kind. Goes to show us how rumors and hearsay become more real to some people than Truth. A few years later I had an opportunity to revisit. My exclamation to them after meeting many of the previous people was "I've never seen so many deeply loving people in one place!" They had continued on with their sifting out of negative personality (egoic) traits through group encounters, healing meetings and persistent hard work. Geez, even SVP has been (is being) mis-labeled a "new age cult". And this after I helped the guy find information on his particular topic and ancestor: Clara Jessup Bloomfield-Moore (Keely's benefactress). http://www.geocities.com/jessupmoore/ What makes people jump to these kinds of false assumptions that are really attacks on ourselves? (see ACIM on "murdering the innocent") Fear of the unknown, fear of not being right and especially fear of not going along with "common knowing" (Everyone knows such and such and don't you agree?). |
