I've been discovering, learning and walking the "spiritual science" path for some years. The western science people are afraid of it. Likewise the religious are afraid too. So I've managed to wedge myself between two warring tribes and I get a lot of arrows from both camps. On the other hand there are those few "out there" who are "spiritual but not religious" and "bleeding-edge scientist" who are more aware and these few have been supportive. They are careful of what they say because the status quo is quick and ruthless in suppressing dissenting (new to them) ideas. Steiner lectured how the spirituality of the east has to eventually merge with the materialism of the west. I agree whole-heartedly. Being on this list with its eastern concepts even for a few days has shown me the chasm separating eastern ideas and western culture. It is clear there are a few ideas on each side that antagonizes the other. A heart-felt reconciliation (allowing, forgiving, tolerance) must be achieved is this merging of seeming mutually antagonistic philosophies are to co-exist peacefully. I personally do not consider OSHO as a religious leader nor his ideas as constituting a religion. (I could be wrong on this.) But many Americans will see it that way and be afraid of it because it is "foreign", strange to them and his many ideas outside of their comfort zone and understanding. For example, I've seen many negative reactions with the Maharishi and his TM movement which does have its pros and cons. The so-called Christian mind-set in this country has mentally isolated its adherents from anything not "approved" by its leaders. Hence it is a mind-control movement designed and operated to enslave its followers to prescribed dogma and doctrine.Ê There have been many enlightened people in the past; Buddha and Jesus are but two of many. It has been my focus to study them all and sort out the universal principles and laws that govern our existence. While I do not disparage any I try not to elevate any one of them above the rest. (I do tend to lean on Keely, Russell and Cayce quite a bit.) They all have some gems of wisdom for us is we but look with open eyes, mind and heart. |
