When the Japanese began marketing automobiles into America Detroit laughed. They didn't laugh very long. American cars at that time were not much more than junk - poorly engineered and made. A little competition change all that. The same thing happened with small engines, TVs and other electronic devices. America does not make TVs, they are all imported from somewhere else. A large portion of our foods are imported. A very large portion of all manufactured goods are now imported. America is becoming more and more dependent on foreigners for its essentials. Not a good place to be..... In this regard LaRouche is absolutely correct. The name of the game is production - not consumption as most claim - and America has lost most of its production. When I was in grade school back in the 50s and 60s students were taught how to produce things. The girls were taught how to produce children, clothing and food products. The boys could take different kinds of shop classes. Neighbors were usually farmers who all produced food, animal products, timber or whatever. Everyone produced something. Not now. Now everyone has been brain-conditioned to "shop until you drop", drink beer and root for one or the other football teams. Those who do manage to produce something are harassed by local governments, code enforcers, tax people of diverse ilk, inflation, predatory bankers, foreign competition, lawyers, insurance scammers and ad infinitum. America has been deliberately taken down. |
